Learn the skill
Your trainer introduces and demonstrates each exercise while explaining what you’re looking for and how to reinforce it.
Practice together
You work directly with your dog while your trainer coaches your handling, timing, communication, and technique.
Add distractions
As skills develop, you practice around other dogs, people, movement, and class activity so your dog learns to stay engaged with you.
Group classes may be a good fit if your dog:
- Is at least 6 months old
- Has no history of reactivity
- Needs stronger basic obedience and manners
- Needs practice listening around other dogs and people
- Would benefit from structured exposure to distractions
- Has an owner who wants to be actively involved in training
Some dogs need a different starting point.
Dogs with reactivity or more significant behavior concerns may be better suited for Private Training or one of our Board & Train programs.

A few common questions about who Group Training is for and what to expect.
How old does my dog need to be?
Dogs must be at least 6 months old to participate.
Can reactive dogs attend Group Training?
Group classes are intended for dogs with no history of reactivity. If your dog struggles with reactivity or significant behavior concerns, we can help you determine whether Private Training or another program would be a better starting point.
Do I participate in class with my dog?
Yes. Group Training is hands-on. You’ll work directly with your dog while receiving coaching and guidance from the trainer.
How large are the classes?
Classes are intentionally kept small to allow for personalized instruction while still giving dogs the opportunity to practice around distractions.
What skills are covered?
Sit, down, place, loose-leash walking, recall, polite greetings, engagement around distractions, appropriate socialization, and handler confidence.
Enough distraction to learn. Small enough to get help.
We keep class sizes small so your dog can practice around other dogs and people while you still receive hands-on guidance from the training team.
